Instagram is primarily a visual platform, available in mobile and desktop formats, allowing users to share and view photos and videos publicly or privately. The popular social network has nearly 800 million monthly active users and is very popular among teens and young Millennials – in the United States more than half of Instagram’s user base is between 18 and 29 years old.

“Not only are a growing number of alumni using social media platforms like Instagram to stay in touch, network, and keep up on School news, but this gives us a way to quickly communicate campus updates, alumni spotlights, events, mentoring opportunities, and more,” says Scott Aland ’07, assistant director of alumni relations.
